I am looking to get internet access to a property across the street and I was hoping to save a buck. I noticed you can buy WiFi routers for not to expensive and I am thinking about creating a bridge made of WiFi routers with openwrt.

A cheap router isn't going to be setting any speed records but how bad would it be? Should I just get a new connection or omnidirectional hardware?

I have my AP's setup and all I need now is sine sort of firewall appliance. I am hopping to make it run openwrt as that's what I'm used to using. I'm looking at a nanopi but they seem expensive and overpowered to me. Is there a cheap alternative?

Edit: I just went to Walmart and bought a libksys router. It can do gigibit speeds and works fine

I am working on setting up internet at a new place and I have the ability to design it from almost the ground up. It needs to be cost effective.

I already have a device that will act as a router but now I need wifi
