No revives how can I get this on my first try?

I have completed the Shura ending of the game. None of the bosses ever made me go past 30 tries. I did Genichiro in like 10 or 15 tries on both of these runs, Guardian ape didn't take me more than a few tries on either run.But this pimp ass old man has been wiping the floor with me for at least 50 reruns. This is wild. This was also the first boss fight where I had LITERALLY one hit left on them and they still beat me.It is so fascinating to hear which bosses individuals have a tough time with and how much our experiences can vary, so I figured I would share mine.For me I feel like I could read every other boss way better than Shinobi Owl. He likes to stun lock me with his running slash and then he will throw firecrackers out which instinctively I don't want to dodge into but apparently that's the only thing that actually works for dealing with those.At first I wa running ichimonji double then I switched to mortal blade and that seems to be working well though I'm not excited to have to go farm for more spirit emblems if I keep getting beat by my dad.I just keep coming back for more though...

Context. I'm new to sekiro. This is my first soulsborne/from soft/miyazaki game. It took me 30 odd tries to get past the first miniboss who teaches you about perilous attacks. Now I'm getting skullfucked by six mooks and a troll with a hammer who think its perfectly ok to gang up on me.I decided to look for a few youtube videos of new sekiro players also facing difficulty and slowly overcoming them so I dont feel like I'm just bad, and that the struggle is normal. But EVERY single one of them seems to have their parry timing down pat, they're blazing through the game, 2-3 tries on minibosses, there is NO shot this is their first playthrough.What am I missing? I'm just really trying to get better at this game (and I can see myself slowly improve), but god damn. "first time playing sekiro" my ass.Rant over, you may now tell me to git gud and/or kms.EDIT: Got past the part that was frustrating me. Stealth'd ALL the way through lmao.

As I decided to replay Sekiro this past month as I wait for Elden Ring's DLC, it still continues to amaze me how smooth and polished the combat Sekiro has. Now that Im playing SotE, with the bosses much more flashy with little windows for heals and attacks, all that is going through my mind is that, damn, I wish I can deflect these fuckin barrage of attacks.In Sekiro we have more options in how we approach and deal with enemies attacks; "Should I try for deflect?" "Should I just run away and wait for the flurry to finish?" "Should I heal on this attack?" "Just dash to the side?" "Use umbrella to deflect?" Yeah, it feels fairer given these various options. I mean, I still love Souls games, but Sekiro's just built diff. I wish they make more games similar to the combat feels Sekiro has.

I don't like the leveling system because i'm the type of person who's going to keep leveling up for hours until the game isn't hard anymore.Sekiro actually forces you to get better at the game man what an amazing game.

So I have played elden ring(I haven’t finished the dlc yet),ds1,ds3,ds2. I haven’t finished any of the ds games but I get the gist of those games. I wanted to try sekiro too but I heard it’s pretty different than those games I mentioned. Any tips?

Exactly the title. It always took me like 50 tries to beat the monk in mibu village but the true monk takes like 5 tries. This came apparent to me on my recent playthrough where I killed the true corrupted monk first try. Why does the early game one phase boss feel more of a challenge than the late game three phase version?
