I'm playing an Indian (Bangladeshi) themed Loxodon (elephant man) right now. It's great fun. I've been reading bits of Hindu religion to incorporate a specific morale stance on things. Eg, I think he'll have the view that he's going to have an arranged marriage when he gets back to his homelands, therefore won't be acting a sleaze (which I don't like anyway) in the game.
Ooh, the idea of a South Asian Loxodon is cool!
I googled war elephants and got ancient India for inspo.
