Do we have any big trans girl athletes here? Still kinda scared of being less athletic on e.
I know some though they're kinda mid even though they're pros
I remember seeing a study that trans athletes are physically disadvantaged lacking female bones or whatever.
The T levels you normally want in a transition are really low, close to or slightly below the bottom of the average range for cis women, and that just has some impact on your performance. It doesn't mean you'll stop being athletic, but it's an additional level of difficulty to make and especially maintain your gains. Friend of mine does landscaping work, including the kind where you're climbing trees all day with a chainsaw, so they have the kind of actually useful muscles that aren't for show, but that you get from hard proletarian labor and they've definitely lost muscle mass since they've gotten on E. They're still built and can easily pick me up even though i'm a big girl (swoons lightly), but they say that they lose strength really fast now. Like, if they can get off work for a month and just chill, it's super noticeable for them and that just wasn't the case before they started transitioning.
I didnโt even think about how it would be helpful to go extra low to reverse existing t effects.
You shouldn't completely nuke T below the point where it's detectable, that'd leave you drained and depressed, but both monotherapy with high doses of E and fairly moderate doses of common anti-androgens will usually leave you in a range where most cis women have higher T than you. Like, i see a lot of girls who struggle to get E high enough with gel or pills, but testosterone levels look really good in most transfems i know. And it's noticeable, especially when it comes to stuff like thickness and growth speed of body hair.
I run a lot of road races if that counts? I'm faster than I was as a guy, tho it's because I train a lot more.
