Never understand why people get Apple cards anyways. Why do people look at a tech company and want to get a card from them?
Like, Lemme get that MSFT CC. Lemme get that Amazon CC.. That Facebook CC... wth?
I’ve got a few from different businesses I often shop at, Apple being one of them.
On a side note, the platinum card is pretty awesome and it came in handy as a screwdriver last year when I needed one. Also love that no numbers are on it so no one can snap a pic of my details and I can manage it very easily in my iPhone on the go.
But I got it because it’s actually more convenient than going through the carrier like Verizon. If buying any Apple device, you get a 0% interest rate. I prefer getting my iPhone directly from Apple because they are unlocked so I am free to switch from carrier to carrier at my will. Only downside is that some carriers give customers an option to pay about $6 extra a month to upgrade early, but that’s only if you want to upgrade each year which I don’t care for. On my last iPhone, I was with about 5 different carriers over 3 years trying each one out to see who fit my needs best. I was able to just up and leave any time I wished and not have to go through the process of backing up/restoring or paying for my iPhone in full in one big lump, let alone paying interest on the device.
For other stores, it’s been nice for bonuses like 0% interest for 18 months or getting a discount of like $150 off the retail price at checkout.
Credit cards for specific brands are also easier to get so they’re popular for people wanting to build credit. I’m not sure about the Apple Card since it is one you can use for just about any service, but that’s for the other brands that offer credit cards to shop exclusively for their products.
Thanks for the insight!
