I’m curious how people play multiplayer games on the steam deck: online and offline. I want to get into them but I am not sure how sound this goal is right now. The only multiplayer games that I have played were dead by daylight. But I know that cannot be the only game that offers multiplayer. Share with me your recommendations and ideas, please. Also, maybe I could join y’all in a steam deck session.

Online multi-player works as it would for any PC / Console.

For local / shared / split screen games we have some additional Xbox controllers we pair via Bluetooth to the steam deck then connect it to a TV via HDMI and we all play with the wireless controllers.

Party games like the https://www.jackboxgames.com/ are even easier, you just hook the HDMI up to the TV or stream it to the TV using Steam Link then everyone uses their phones as controllers.

The xbox controllers you use, are they the "PC version"?

I have the one with the dongle and I think there is no Bluetooth on it. I'm thinking about getting a Steam Deck and I wonder if I'm going to be able to use it.

Do you have any clue?

To clarify I am using Xbox one controllers, all CURRENT NEW Xbox / One etc controllers and PlayStation controllers are Bluetooth.

SOME old Xbox One controllers are not, but you can tell by the plastic style.
