Exactly the title. It always took me like 50 tries to beat the monk in mibu village but the true monk takes like 5 tries. This came apparent to me on my recent playthrough where I killed the true corrupted monk first try. Why does the early game one phase boss feel more of a challenge than the late game three phase version?

I had the exact opposite experience. If you stay right on top of the fake one's ass and constantly chip at its posture it can't handle it. Its hard but I always had the real one dome me multiple times.

The false Monk has ridiculous posture. Most new players will allow it's posture to heal so that they have to take a significant portion of it's health before the posture will break.

Run away to heal? It's posture is healed. Dodge it's attacks instead of deflect? it's posture is healed.

You have to be super aggressive and stand toe-to-toe the whole time before the false monk plays like a single phase of the true monk. Try confetti.
