"Now, who wants to draw straws to rip the duct tape off of Carrie?"

All the straws were the same length so they declared all are the rightful winners.
They went to work right after the (studio mandated) cocaine break.

[slight cough]

trekcore.com is a useful resource.

I did a Google image search. Silly me.

[–] [email protected] 14 points 3 months ago

The site doesn't have every frame, but most moments that one might want to use. Bare in mind, since there's no HD transfer of DS9 or VOY, you're just as well off on image search.

Ha ha, I just remembered that I go to that website for LCARS sound clips to customize stuff in my phone.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 3 months ago

And now I'll be doing that later today!

Sorry, for the quality. It was the only screenshot I’ve found. In this shot from “Man of the People”, you can clearly see the dress/nightgown Marina Sirtis is wearing is highlighting her nipples.

FYI, Sirtis has stated in interview(s?) that she was aware that she was the sex symbol for the show.

Poor woman I remember in one interview she mentioned the outfit they gave her (up until Jellico made Troi start wearing a uniform) was so fitted that she couldn't gain a single pound.

I feel like what they did with Jerri Ryan was worse. At least for Deanna, it was in character.

Seven was a well-written character, but the wardrobe choices still infuriated me. That is probably one thing PIC got right.

Not as bad as Jolene Blalock.

I haven't watched ENT yet, but I indeed have heard things about T'Pol.

[–] [email protected] 26 points 3 months ago (2 children)

There were a lot of scenes where characters, generally including T'Pol, would get "decontaminated" which meant rubbing each other down in their underwear.

[–] [email protected] 11 points 3 months ago

Don’t forget that Connor Trinneer had to spend one entire episode in their underwear.

There's only one episode where they stretch the scene for an uncomfortable amount of time and have her and Trip really rub each other (as far as I remember).

Edit: The scene https://youtu.be/O4J9UDw6oiA

I saw an early screening of that episode at a post-con event at a Star Trek pub in London.

When that scene came on a ripple of 'FFS - really‽' laughter went round the room, just because of how blatant it was.

Yeah from Both Drone to Socially Awkward Catsuit Lady seemed silly. Especially in a show with powerful women (e.g. as captain and as chief engineer).

[–] [email protected] 33 points 3 months ago

Once again: Jellico was the hero the Enterprise needed, not the one it wanted.

[–] [email protected] 11 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

She was in a couple Cannon company explotation films in her early career. She has thanked the show for getting her out of that explicitly abusive part of the industry.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 3 months ago (1 children)

I’ll be honest, I never saw the appeal. I enjoyed her character interactions, but she was not my thing.

[–] [email protected] 10 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Right? Like not green skinned enough.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 3 months ago

A forehead ridge hits the spot.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 3 months ago

They made her wear a unique low-cut purple spandex suit for the first half of the series.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 3 months ago

I wonder if any actresses were ever unaware of that role when they played it?

[–] [email protected] 27 points 3 months ago (2 children)

seems like one of those "won't be visible on a consumer tv" things

[–] [email protected] 13 points 3 months ago

At least not in 1992.

[–] [email protected] 10 points 3 months ago

The low resolution will blur out all hint of anatomy, don't worry

[–] [email protected] 17 points 3 months ago

Damn. I might need to start watching Star Trek.

[–] [email protected] 15 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Star Trek always had the better plot.

I didn’t 👀

[–] [email protected] 14 points 3 months ago

How could you forget?! Wardrobe stuck Troi into just a handful of memorably revealing outfits over those seven years.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 3 months ago

That episode was a defining moment in my childhood

[–] [email protected] 6 points 3 months ago

Sometimes I think the future is bleak and nothing good with happen again. Then star trek shows me that there is hope, for... Humanity or something, yeah.
