I´d really appreciate if you guys could offer me some guidance.
TL;DR
- Will 750 platinum PSU be able to sustain an i7-13700k paired with a RTX 4080 (Overclocked)
- Is the i5-13600k good enough to last me for some good years at peak performance?
- Will all this be too hot in an SFX Build?
Little note before, I live in Colombia, so everything I buy in USD is about 4x the price for me (I still can and tend to make an effort since this is my passion, but still).
Short story, three years ago I decided to finally upgrade my pc, last time was in 2014, I had been rocking an MSI 1070 and an intel i7-7700k for about six years now. Great build that carried me all too well through the new games, still works pretty good.
Anyways, back then I started looking into SFX because I tend to move my pc when I go to different places and carrying a huge tower is quite the hassle, so I thought it´d be nice to try small form factor (play interstellar meme trying to stop myself). Did some research decided on a case that looked good and did not absolutely break the bank (NR200p) and got my hands on a corsair 750w patinum power supply. Well both of those components have been sitting on my closet since then. That curious thing happend and the world changed and prices changed... Anyways, recently I bought an RTX 4080 after 3 years craving to upgrade. So my rig carried me for a total of nine years almost ten. Anyhow, thing is now I want to buy what remains for me to transition into the SFX and here is the deal.
I would love to not have to change the PSU, but im worried I might be too greedy with what I want. I work with video editing, music and photo, also game a ton, even thinking on streaming and such, therefore I really feel like I need a beast of a computer, but am worried on two accounts
- Will the PSU be able to manage either a i7-13700k or i5-13600k (even maybe with a lil overclock).
- Am i effectively creating a nuclear heat reactor with this specs.
So in essence what I want to know is if I can actually get an i7-13700k with my rig and have some room to overclock or is it TOO greedy? Maybe I should just stick to the i5-13600k? Im worried that the difference between i7 and i5 is too big.
