One thing I was thinking about when watching this movie was that it reminded me a lot of the movie Requiem for a Dream. It touches on similar topics in terms of drugs that is used and how it changes the characters and makes them live for it.

It also reminds me of Requiem for a Dream in that I don't want to ever watch it again
Haha! I would love to watch it again with friends... But I'm sure my friends are not going to like it (except one)... But I only want to watch it again with them to see their reactions..
Ye, it definitely had major Arronovsky influences. I also loved all the shining references. I really dug it. I felt traumatized after watching it. What a fucking ride. Solid flick.
Yes! Totally! That was some of the best parts of the movie!
I absolutely loved this movie. The ending gave me real Society (1989) vibes. I can't get enough of practical effects and body horror. A true gem of our time.
I haven't thought about Society in a long time. I need to rewatch that.
Just got out the theater. As a huge body horror Cronenberg fan this movie ROCKED
A wild ride. I absolutely loved the scenes and how they set up the shots. Really a lot of great imagery.
Overall, easy to predict, but still enticing.
I'm not sure I can ever really put the ending into a proper context though. It ripped the entire movie out of its tracks
Absolutely! I loved how the director worked with the wide-angle lenses so that you got much more out of the picture, it also made me feel sick to my stomach so many times.. But yeah. The ending.. What a shit fest lol, and not really in a bad way but a WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK kind of way. Note if you've seen her other movie, Revenge, it is kinda reminiscent of that. It's a really bloody ending there as well and she apparently love that types of scenes. I also wonder if the bloody walls was a reference to The Shining, someone commented on this earlier in the thread but the hallway where she walks is totally a reference to that as well.
10/10 movie of the year.
OK, now I am interested in watching that. Usually not a horror fan but his one sounds like intriguing.
Well it certainly is interesting. But it's not for everyone that is for sure.
