Rules:

  1. All DubVee instance rules apply. See the sidebar at https://dubvee.org/. Those are pretty comprehensive, so we don't really need to add much to those.
  2. No politics outside of what's referenced on the show. Let's leave that drama elsewhere since there's plenty of it.
  3. All posts must be 30 Rock related or adjacent. You dummies are awesome, so I don't think I've ever had to mod any posts for this, but codifying it for good measure.
  4. Less a rule and more of a guideline, but please try to provide alt text if your instance + client combination support it. If not, then please try to make an effort to provide a description of any image posts in the post body. Let's be an a11y when we can :)
  5. Don't make fun of people for misusing dated cultural references. Are we all cowabunga on this?
  6. No talking about Krang. It would be a waste of time to talk about Krang on ~~television~~ the internet.

I read it good while back, but I'm about to do a re-read, or maybe I'll throw on the audiobook. Mostly curious if it would be wasted on the community to post things from it. It talks about a lot of behind the scenes stuff from 30 Rock and SNL.

I loved it when it came out. I even bought copies and foisted them on some family members as gifts.

Nice. Mine was also a gift but in the form of a gift card. Bought the ebook and audiobook bundle.

I did back when it came out, I enjoyed it from what I remember. Not life changing but I do love Tina

Same here. Definitely not life changing (not everything needs to be) but it was definitely entertaining.

I listened to the audio book around the same time. I remember enjoying it, too, but I also came away thinking Fey was a bit more like Liz Lemon than I would think-- a bit colder and harder than I'd expect.

Amy Pohler's book, on the other hand, was a joy from beginning to end

I think it would be neat to have some relevant excerpts that you find interesting posted here!

I have not read it, but I did read the first chapter or so of The 30 Rock Book: Inside the Iconic Show, from Blerg to EGOT. I can't remember all what problems I had with it other than how it seemed to go into far too much detail about Studio 60. But before continuing past that first chapter, I looked up some reviews of the book, and everyone was just trashing it. I decided it was not worth my time.

I'll see if I can figure out the best way to share some good parts of it then.

I'm leaning toward the audiobook since Fey narrates it herself, so I may have to follow along in the ebook to grab some excerpts. (The post image is just a stock photo because I don't have a physical copy haha).

I haven't even heard of "The 30 Rock Book" but from those reviews, I think I'll keep it that way.
