ODST is pretty cool, super atmospheric. I hope we get more sideline Halo games in the future

I’ve heard Reach is supposed to be similar. I’m excited to get to it. I still need to finish 2 on Legendary, and go back and do CE after I accidentally played it without anti-Cheat trying to fix a bug it was having with split screen on Steam Deck and I didn’t get the achievements (I set myself the impossible task of 100% MCC, so I’m dedicated to doing it)
It's structured linearly like CE, 2 and 3 (no hub level to wander in like the streets of Mombasa). But you do fight alongside team members, so there's that. It's very emotional and human too, and generally more grounded. Have a great time
Good luck for legendary Halo2.... some moments are really tough
I’m doing it Co-Op and the forced reset upon a players death is making it really difficult. We’ve been spending almost entire days on just a single level. I’m dreading having to do LASO since I think there’s achievements for that too
Ah you're using the iron skull... Haven't done LASO at all, apparently it's somewhat easier in coop
Is there a way to turn Iron Skull off? it was on by default in Halo 2 Legendary since the first level and it's been a pain in the ass (as much as i love a challenge)
Any and all skulls can be toggled in the pregame lobby as far as I know
I ended up googling the Iron Skull to see exactly how it works. sadly it's forced on by Legendary Mode in Halo 2 for Co-Op. Thank you for the help though, i'll be keeping that in the back of my mind once i try out the skulls system
I have never played Halo, planning to start the MC collection soon.
You're in for a great time. enjoy 😊
They're genre defining fps. Have fun. Lost interest in campaigns around halo 4. All before then are solid good times.
I stopped play Halo when the 3rd came out. How well does this hold up today? I was always curious about it but it felt more MP focused.
I played through them all a couple of years ago. They hold up great in my opinion, and 2 got a great remaster, so the graphics are solid. If you are talking about ODST specifically, then I'll say it's one of my favorites. It has a totally different feel to it that helps to flesh out the game universe a lot, and being so damn squishy makes the gameplay a lot different. There's a sort of noir vibe to it too, so it definitely stands apart from the other games.
I’m playing the MCC Collection in order rn (it’s my first experience with Halo in general). I haven’t touched the story for 4 or Reach, but the MP for 4 felt very COD-ish compared to the first three. I’ll have to check back in with you on the story with 4/Reach when I get to those though
ODST’s soundtrack is genuinely so fire. Also are you planning on playing halo 2 in its original form or the anniversary remaster?
We're currently playing the MCC version. I'd assume it's the anniversary remaster since i can toggle back and forth like with CE's anniversary
