"Mr. Buma's statements raise serious concerns that Republicans' impeachment campaign is continuing to amplify a disinformation effort that has its sources in the Russian intelligence apparatus and could have been exposed and silenced years ago," they said.

Russia has owned the GOP outright for years. Remember when they hacked both the DNC and RNC but only released info on the DNC? Gee I wonder why that was…

Rudy Giuliani 'may have been compromised' by the Kremlin, and FBI leaders didn't care

"One of the saddest lessons of history is this: If we've been bamboozled long enough, we tend to reject any evidence of the bamboozle. We're no longer interested in finding out the truth. The bamboozle has captured us." - Carl Sagan, 1995

You mean the guy who replaced the Italian Mafia in NYC with the Russian Mafia, then avoided investigation of that because of 9/11, then threw everything behind a president with very questionable connections to Russia, and took several mystery trips to Russia...might have been compromised by the Russians?

Shocked!

They aren’t interested in stopping right wing domestic terrorism, attempted coups that get blatantly advertised on social media, or politicians compromised by foreign powers. What is it the FBI does care about, exactly?

Yet somehow the right thinks the FBI is shielding Biden and democrats lol

[–] [email protected] 13 points 1 year ago

That's because the right is made up of cynical liars misleading society's most ignorant and gullible.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago

They don't think that, they are just projecting.

And the democrats think “any day now Mueller will unseal that indictment!!!”

You're the first person I've heard even mention Mueller in probably 2 years lol

I’m sure you’ve heard plenty of “the FBI will save us any day,” though. It’s the same nonsense - expecting right wingers to reign in right wingers is a fool’s errand.

Probably busy monitoring environmentalists and socialists.

Suppressing leftism

So the FBI is compromised by the Kremlin?

That's reductive and wrong.

Keeping their jobs, maybe. Avoiding the accusations of "deep state", no matter how justified they might be in taking action.

🤖 I'm a bot that provides automatic summaries for articles:

Click here to see the summary"Mr. Buma's statements raise serious concerns that Republicans' impeachment campaign is continuing to amplify a disinformation effort that has its sources in the Russian intelligence apparatus and could have been exposed and silenced years ago," they said.

Buma's concerns about Giuliani, a personal attorney for Trump during his presidency, center on the $300,000 his firm received from Pavel Fuks, a Ukrainian oligarch with close ties to Moscow.

They were pushing the same narrative that would, months later, turn into a Trump campaign talking point: Hunter's work for Burisma didn't just create the appearance of a conflict; it was somehow illegal.

The sources also claimed that George Soros, the billionaire who is at the center of numerous far-right conspiracy theories, was "involved in massive money laundering," according to Buma's disclosure.

Working out of the Los Angeles Field Office, Buma gives a firsthand account of a dynamic that is exactly the opposite of what has been alleged: Information about Hunter Biden was eagerly received and handed off to the case agents while investigations into Giuliani were shut down.

He says he was directly ordered to stop investigating Trump and his circle, that his best sources were closed down, and that he was transferred from his human intelligence squad to a less desirable assignment doing surveillance, one that had little to do with this skill-set or experience.

May have been?

ROFL!

With the FBI holding so many cards, allegations of political bias within the bureau should concern everyone.

Boy, I'd be more concerned about the rightwingers who caused the FBI investigate all these...

That's because being useful idiot goes both ways and there's a non-zero chance our people are better at espionage than they are
