This, of course, turned out to be a boon for Netflix, as they reportedly gained 5.9 million new subscribers after the policy was enacted.

Time to find the next alternative to streaming. Any ideas?

Tis that time indeed matey

Yup. Every company will follow the same model. Why wouldn’t they when it was clearly successful. Not everyone accepted it, I canceled Netflix, more because of a lack of content that didn’t justify the price if I couldn’t share it.

Slowly more and more will be raising the black flag and soon some new service will come out, and the cycle will repeat itself.

Honestly, just pirate. It has gotten way out of the hand.

I’d recommend check Piracy and FHMY communities.

I'm only keeping D+ for my niece and nephew. If they can't watch it at home it'll be time to set up that server I've been thinking about and setting up my sister's computer to access it.

I docked my ship in the early aughts, but it's time I set sail again

In point of fact, I began puttering around the harbor, and I'm already looking for a bigger boat. Something with a decent hold, since I've already acquired a TB, I mean ton, of goods for distribution

Keep Feeding the mice and see the infestation grow.

Disney:

1940: Micky Mouse! (Also Worker Strike are secretly communists!!!)

1950: Hey, come to the theater with your kids and watch Peter Pan.

1960: Hey come watch Dumbo the flying elephant!

1970: Hey, if you are not at the movies, come to our Park!

1980: Hey world, here are several parks, so you can feed the mice in your own country

1990: Hey, watch the Lion King, buy a tshirt, buy a mug, buy bedsheets, come to the park, we buy all the other studios in your interest!

2000: Hey, fat mice here, buy more of our home media that you can resell or share! Buy More Shirts! Pay us at the parks! We now work closely with FOX. See Nemo, buy all the merchandise! We merge with Citadel Broadcasting. We also bought Marvel. Suck it. Please feed the Mice!

2010: Hey Chinese, come to Shanghai Disney Resort! We made Mulan for that! We also bought Lucasfilm so we can sell everyone more Starwars and Indiana Jones spinoffs! You do not have to come to the theater anymore, you can feed the mice via Disney+ from your home! I'snt that great?! Give us more of your money and time while owning less!

2020: Hey watch our latest spinoff of a 30 year old IP while you can not own the media, you can not share our media and we increase the price without changing anything of the product -- and you will like it! Feed the Mice or micky will come to your home and shank you and your family at night.

Is Canada like a weapon x program site? Or do they think they can get away with it cuz people are polite there? Every company tries stupid shit in Canada first.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

As long as people are stupid enough to pay for it...

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Well "stupid" seems a tad harsh. Some people see value in it while others might not.
