Where the counter comes from doesn't preclude this, but is an evolution of it. If the law says your family takes their eye in revenge for them taking yours, then they take revenge for what you did, etc. It creates a potential for a cycle of vengeance. It's better than nothing probably, but it also has serious flaws.

Gaetz is probably a worse person, but I'm unsure if he'd be a worse AG. I think the less competent and the more dirt on them that is public the better, as far as Trump picks go.
It's the point of no return for something, but I suspect there's still a future to fight for. Anyone pushing a full doomer view is trying to suppress you. In case the worst happens, you should try to build a community around yourself and support other people. Join a mutual aid group if you can (or start one). If you grow produce or something, talk to your neighbors and exchange resources.
If we build a strong foundation, nothing that happens can break us. In the worst case, they'll try to break us and break themselves upon us. We need to be strong so we can come back stronger in the future.
I also enjoy food and don't struggle with weight (well, I struggle with gaining it still at 31). I still have learned I don't need to over-eat. Anything extra is just going to waste. I eat fairly slowly and enjoy it, instead of eating like I'm in a competition. I eat until I feel done eating and don't usually go further. You can enjoy eating without over-eating. Honestly, it's probably easier.

I don't know if what your friends did was normal. Normal for them maybe. Every group of people I've shared pizza with its always been a discussion and been shared. Larger pizzas are cheaper by area, so it's best to get a few of the largest size and split them instead of everyone getting a small to themselves.

The discount is mostly for giving them your money early, not for buying in bulk. Money is worth more the earlier you get it, because it can be invested. You're giving them money for the promise of something in the future, with very little knowledge on what that is.
That already happens. They often have a legal requirement to release what was promised, so they just get it out the door so the requirement is fulfilled. That's the problem with pre-ordering.

We have many. Most aren't in effect yet though, but it also isn't a serious issue. They're stored safely in cement caskets, with molten glass and stuff to keep it together and safe, with effectively zero chance to cause an issue. There are permanent ways to store it safely, but we haven't invested in them yet for many reason. Mostly, dirty energy companies pushing the anti-nuclear message have purposefully hamstrung nuclear from becoming a great solution, and people who think they're being smart believe them.
