Drum & Bass

I made a community a couple weeks ago with the intention of just posting random stuff and seeing if it got any traction at all. It's already at 50 subscribers so I think it's going to be around for a bit!

Basically, WestCoastEDM is focused on EDM that's big on the American west coast rave scene, so Drum & Bass, Dubstep, Bass House, Leftfield Bass and more (but you can post whatever genre you want).

What makes it different from other communities? Links are exclusively for new releases, dubplates, bootlegs, newly available older stuff, fresh mixes, and/or things you just wouldn't be able to easily find anywhere else. I wanted something that would be fresh and content-rich for everybody, that any basshead could enjoy subscribing to.

At the Chaos Communication Congress #37c3 I played some forward Drum'n'Bass at a pop-up party stage.

This is my album. Not all of it is [drum & bass], but a good amount of it is. (Specifically, the tracks Into Sky, Imaginary Color, Vanishing Point, Swallow the Sun and Hardware Problem.)

This album is pretty experimental, since the main other influence is [progressive rock].

This thing took forever and I'm happy to finally share it!

A set played in the afternoon heat at a sunny summer Saturday at the main square at the Chaos Communication Camp 2023.

That for this set contains playful and light beats and pleasant sounds.

In the summer I was playing at a festival like camp at night.

Before me the DJ was playing nice old school Dubstep. So I started with more or less banging dnb. The crowed was very pleased and satisfied. After some hours the db heads stayed still enjoying so I slightly faded to more deep dnb. And this is the last hour I played.

Maybe you enjoy it too.

I figured I might as well share this, was really proud of how it turned out! Didn't end up winning but I am happy with the deep liquid mixed with dancefloor vibes I managed to make happen here. What are folks thoughts? :)

Wilkinson has to be one of my current faves in DnB
