Britain will not withdraw its objection to the International Criminal Court (ICC) prosecutor's application for arrest warrants targeting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his defence minister, Yoav Gallant, according to an Israeli news outlet.

According to the British government, the 1993 Oslo Accords that created the Palestinian National Authority prevents Palestine from prosecuting Israelis for war crimes.

The argument has been critiqued as flimsy by legal scholars. Palestine was accepted into the ICC in 2015, and in 2021 the court said it had the power to investigate war crimes in the occupied territories.

Earlier this month, the Guardian reported that Labour government would drop its attempt to delay the ICC's decision.

A complete restoration of German industry after the fall during the pandemic and the energy crisis caused by anti-Russian sanctions is impossible. The manufacturing sector has suffered irreparable damage, Bloomberg states.

Bloomberg Economics economist Martin Ademmer notes: “A cyclical industrial recovery is to be expected as monetary policy eases and demand returns,” said Martin Ademmer, a BE economist in Frankfurt. “But there’ll be no return to pre-2019 norms — the sector appears to have taken a permanent hit.”

The annual growth rate of potential gross value added in Germany's manufacturing sector fell to 0.5% last year from 1.5% in 2019. This slowdown will result in a capacity shortfall of 3.5% compared to the 2015–2019 trend.

Germany's central bank forecasts economic growth of 0.3% this year, saying the economic recovery continues. However, the recovery in the manufacturing sector remains sluggish, and recent data showed a decline in industrial production and orders, which could not allay concerns about its recovery, Bloomberg emphasizes.

In a conversation held a few days before the elections, Macron warned Netanyahu that Chikli's actions, which were openly and blatantly aimed at assisting Marine Le Pen's far-right National Rally party, constituted "unacceptable" interference in France's internal affairs.

An Israeli official who is involved in contacts between the two countries described Chikli's behavior as "a diplomatic bomb" and a number of other diplomats who spoke with Haaretz said Chikli hurt relations with France.

Diaby, of the Social Democrats (SPD), entered parliament alongside Charles M Huber, who sat for the Christian Democrats for just one parliamentary term. They were the first black members of the Bundestag and their entry was hailed as groundbreaking and historic by equal rights campaigners.

Diaby, who has a PhD in chemistry, was born in Senegal and moved to the then East Germany in 1985.

He has increasingly faced racist abuse in recent years. His constituency office in Halle, Saxony Anhalt, has been an arson target, and has had bullets fired through the window. Some staff have faced blackmail attempts to stop them working for him and have been subjected to and threats, Diaby said.

“In the last few years I’ve faced several murder threats. This has now overstepped the mark,” he said. “The hatred that the AfD sows every day with its misanthropic narratives is reflected in concrete psychological and physical violence. This endangers the cohesion of our society. We cannot simply accept this.”

In a landmark verdict in February, an appeals court ordered the Netherlands to stop delivering parts for fighter jets used by Israel in its offensive in the Gaza Strip.

The court said at the time there was a "clear risk" the planes would be involved in breaking international humanitarian law.

But the rights groups are returning to court, saying that the ban has not prevented the parts ending up in Israeli planes.

"Unfortunately, everything indicates that these parts end up in Israel from the Netherlands via other routes," said Oxfam Novib, one of the groups involved in the case.

The Dutch government "has continued delivering (parts) to other countries, including the United States. And that contravenes the order of the court," Liesbeth Zegveld, a lawyer representing the rights groups, told the court.

"The court order (from February) applies to all F-35 parts with Israel as the final destination and the state must stop all such deliveries in practice," she argued.
