We’re still a little over 3 weeks before the final season of Discovery starts streaming and some early impressions are starting to appear online.
Not unsurprisingly but still a little worryingly the reviews seem to be saying season 5 isn’t as strong as season 4 was.
Season 4 wasn’t just bad, it was utterly abysmal and season 5 could somehow be worse.
It is worth noting these impressions are only based on the first 4 episodes but session 4 didn’t manage to improve after episode 4 and I doubt season 5 will too.
IGN, who loved the first 4 seasons claim season 5 is on course to stick the landing based on the first 4 episodes.
Does it count as sticking the landing if the show has so far spent its entire run stumbling from badly written episodes, to wasting perfectly good ideas, completely ignoring the source material, going out of its way to antagonise its target audience and has the worst character development in television history?
Discovery is just a mouthpiece for Alex Kurtzmans political agenda and is so far removed from Roddenberry’s vision for Star Trek it has absolutely no business being called Star Trek.
At least once it’s finally finished we can all put the disgrace that has been Star Trek Discovery behind us and start the process of healing.
And if I see Sonequa Martin-Green puts on another display of painful and awkward overacted crying one more time I might just throw a heavy object through my TV.
Are you looking forward to season 5 of Discovery or are you just relieved it’s ending?
