Ask Lemmy
A Fediverse community for open-ended, thought provoking questions
Rules: (interactive)
1) Be nice and; have fun
Doxxing, trolling, sealioning, racism, and toxicity are not welcomed in AskLemmy. Remember what your mother said: if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. In addition, the site-wide Lemmy.world terms of service also apply here. Please familiarize yourself with them
2) All posts must end with a '?'
This is sort of like Jeopardy. Please phrase all post titles in the form of a proper question ending with ?
3) No spam
Please do not flood the community with nonsense. Actual suspected spammers will be banned on site. No astroturfing.
4) NSFW is okay, within reason
Just remember to tag posts with either a content warning or a [NSFW] tag. Overtly sexual posts are not allowed, please direct them to either [email protected] or [email protected].
NSFW comments should be restricted to posts tagged [NSFW].
5) This is not a support community.
It is not a place for 'how do I?', type questions.
If you have any questions regarding the site itself or would like to report a community, please direct them to Lemmy.world Support or email [email protected]. For other questions check our partnered communities list, or use the search function.
Reminder: The terms of service apply here too.

I find the climate change deniers way more tiring.
No I am not because they are absolute right. Tiring is see then proceed to keep destroy the planet.
I get more tired by false positivity than depressive realism.
I get it can be tiring but... We all live on this planet.
Sticking your head in the sand won't stop the feedback loops, friend-o.
Cool story, move along.
It is exhausting to read posts about how everything is ending. Especially so when these same people who claim the world is ending imminently won't even lift a finger to do anything about it. A doom and gloom world view is bad enough, but then add in an attitude that nothing can be done about it makes it 10x worse.
In my experience people who get the danger our world is in are totally willing to change themselves and society. The “go away with your doom stories” are at the other end of the spectrum.
Not sure why the downvotes. I think everyone is tired, but mostly because nothing is being done about it.
I don't care of the downvotes, I can only guess spiteful little people. Which I am sad to say that I've witnessed and encountered on previous accounts, that are coming here on Lemmy to poison it because they live insufferable lives that they have to go and ruin everyone else's time to make themselves feel better over. But this isn't Reddit where everything is decided upon by the karma system. On Lemmy, there aren't as many powermods for them to run to, so they're at a huge disadvantage.
I'd also agree, we know what's wrong with everything, but we're tired of that carrot on the stick chase.
