Tl;dw:

Supports the oil industry
Actively detrimental to air quality, even when lying around and not being played
Objectively worse sound quality than digital formats
More expensive to artists than CDs
Can pollute water when trashed

People like them as a way to collect stuff and support artists, but there are better ways to do both.

This "biovinyl" shit might circumvent the first problem, but reeks of greenwashing.
