Sometimes I think there's a bit of hyperbole on hexbear dot net with regards to what kind of brainworms Americans have. However, today I was visiting my in-laws and they brought up (totally unprompted) the following topics:

  • Chinese spy balloons
  • Russia doesn't allow people to film YouTube videos in public, because of communism
  • Immigrants have taken over Colorado
  • Homeless people have taken over Colorado

I'm so sorry for doubting hexbear-retro

Thinking back on it I'll always marvel at how the hogs could simultaneously hold these two thoughts in their head: "NYC is a liberal hellhole, a modern Sodom" and "we must transform into Super American Patriots 2 after WE were attacked by terrorists"

How detached is the UN at its headquarters or its offices in the Global North from its agencies in the field like UNRWA? I find it unbelievable that Israel keeps killing UN staff in these bombings on Palestinians and somehow UN staff aren't revolting. I know the UN is exactly as toothed as its veto countries want it to be, but if my coworkers kept getting killed by my boss I don't think I'd be sitting on my hands

I've never seen any other seasons of Fargo, so I can't compare it to that. But I thought it was entertaining. My friends who are fans said they liked season 5 the best. It dragged a little - I think it could have been like 5 or 6 episodes. There's a lot of what I would call filler, but it's still mostly entertaining filler. What amused me the most about the show was that you're rooting for a lot of villains because you want them to do bad things to worse people. Oh, and the cops are all incompetent or corrupt, and the rich lady I mentioned is completely and unapologetically aware of her class interests, so it's a very funny show to watch as a leftist (but you will tear your hair out if you talk to libs about it).

And John Hamm is great in it

I just watched Fargo Season 5. One of their characters is a rich lady who plainly states what the role of the police is in modern society when a cop starts probing into her business. I certainly did not expect that from a tee vee show

Lorraine Lyon : What is your function?

Minnesota Police Deputy Indira Olmstead : Excuse me?

Lorraine Lyon : The police. I mean, why do we need you? Except as a tool to keep a certain element in line. To separate those who have money, class, intellect from those who don't. You're gatekeepers, standing outside the walls, keeping the rabble from getting in. But in here, inside these walls, you have no function. You should remember that.

I started mixing extra whey into her food, small amounts at first, just to get her used to the taste, and slightly more every meal. Right now, she’s eating about four meals of 50% cat food and 50% whey powder a day, about 50g protein total, which, for a 5kg cat, is equivalent to a human eating about 750g of protein a day.

The last three months I got her started on creatine, which she hasn’t seemed to noticed. 2-3g per day, sprinkled on top of her food.

My cat has this knitted sweater thing (I live in a cold climate, so cats often wear these things outside), to which I attached small weights. Mainly fishing sinkers. I attached them one by one, so that she wouldn’t notice the additional weight. By now, my cat is wearing this 2.5kg knitted sweater around outside, climbing trees, running around, normal cat stuff.

I also feed her vitamin D, fish oil, and a multivitamin, crushed up into her water bowl.

In addition to the weighted vest training, I’ve started my cat on climbing this large tree in my backyard (three sets of five climbs up and down, enticing her with food), and I managed to figure out a way to make her do sort of a crude bench press by turning her upside down and pushing down on her paws (three sets of 8-10 reps).

My cat has made decent gains so far. Her forelimbs are noticeably bigger, and her chest has increased in size too. A little extra fat (probably around 15% atm), but I’m planning on putting her on an EC stack and maybe Yohimbine HCL.
