You joke, but that is uncomfortably believable.

Based on the number of up doots my post has I'm guessing i'm not alone. If others are having the same problem please comment below with a "yip".

All settings get reverted to default without warning or apparent reason. This appears to happen after a reboot, but not every reboot. Based on other posts I've seen, this has been an on going issue for at least 2 years (example: https://gitlab.com/CalcProgrammer1/OpenRGB/-/issues/1867)

My only fix is to keep a backup of the settings file (OpenRGB.json) and restore that each time the problem occurs, but it is a very irritating problem.

Have recently reinstalled OS, apps, etc. Windows, and rivers are all up to date.

PC Specs and RGB devices:

  • AMD Ryzen 3700X
  • ASUS Strix X570-F Gaming mobo
  • Corsair Vengeance RGB RT 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 3600MHz C16
  • 2 x Addressable RGB strips controlled from the mobo
  • Glorious O Wireless mouse
  • EPOMAKER TH88 Keyboard

Thanks. I'll check my .bash_profile

That's bang on. Thanks. Feels like I should have worked that out, but I just assumed it would be more fiddly.

I'd like to keep XCFE for VERY occasional use, so when I'm not using it I'd like to quit it. Also I don't want it to start at boot. I've found a bunch of ways of uninstalling it but that's not what I'm after, I just want to make sure it is not running unless I start it.

This is bitterness, vengeance and spite by people who feel entitled to behave like those that oppressed them generations ago.

This is another proof that office buildings are an anachronism.

Yeah if they succeed I suspect someone else will take it personally and nuke ~~Zion~~ Israel.

We used to say things were a total "cot death" back in the early 90s. Strangely that one didn't catch on outside of that specific friend group.

Putting aside the insane logistical effort required, is Hamas just going to conveniently stay in the north to get bombed?

I've been a Windows IT tech for years and had confidence with Linux. Been trying the switch every year but only this year did it work out. I'm on endeavouros and I have an AMD GPU so all good? Not entirely. I still need a Windows boot drive to use all my reaper VST plugins and some games won't work because anti cheat, but I'm happy enough and things are only getting better.

I wish you Better luck in the future.

There is always something faster. Unless you need to Nvidia specific stuff then no, you did fine. I got the danger GPU mostly because dual boot Linux and it just works better than Nvidia in Linux.

You'll be happy.

I made the mistake of trying to use 2FA for the lemmy.ml account. Please can the lemmy.ml admin contact me via email to arrange a fix. I'm guessing you'll have to turn it off. I've tried just doing a password reset but it didn't turn off the 2FA so there is no way to recovery from this.

Looks like the same this as this person experienced: https://lemmy.zip/post/117311
