There will probably be a schism where the religious authorities prop up a new Dalai lama, and others believe that they're no longer a part of the cycle of rebirth.
Do they get new Dalai Lamas or is he taking his ball and going home forever?
My understanding is he's literally saying the institution is done forever
But it's religion so they'll start worshiping a new one anyway
