Meh, it's never a war crime the first time. Go for it.

As a retired toolmaker, I see your trebuchet and raise you the artillery piece I made for myself - a small Coehorn mortar of about 50mm/2" bore.

I've known 2 toolmakers that have built their own full scale full functional Gatling guns from scratch also.

Meteorologists do those graphs. What do you expect. Having set through more than one lecture by NOAA person for certification as a weather watch person as a firefighter. They love graphs and photos of clouds. Sooooo many photos of clouds..........

Still, they are easy enough to read once you get used to them.

Yeah, the YTers I follow all are now using internally sourced ads where they get the money. While I will never use or want Hello Fresh or Manscape, I at least know the monies paid for those placements are going directly to the YTer I'm watching.

The downsides is that you need to be a fairly popular YTer to get such funds. Which is creating a high bar for new creators to start up.

Never got paid holiday pay as a medic, firefighter, or county technical rescue. It was all just another day - 24/7/365..........

They eventually do, but it can take several weeks and a noticeable amount of lost production and hence income. Growing up on a dairy farm, switching back and forth sucked for the cows and the rest of the livestock.

Farmers as a rule dislike DST. And I still do.

I would assume he's either a car collector or he owns a small fleet of work vehicles for his small business, (like a plumbing business or such).

Gotta wait for the blue light special though.

Termite infestations are rare. And they can be easily eliminated through pesticide control if you should be that unfortunate.

As a father who raised 4 daughters, you try and stop a young woman from wearing jewelry, perfumes, and even makeup. That's a fight you WILL lose every time.

You should see the dating scene. A young Amish boy holding hands with a young Native walking down a hallway, (or vice versa). It ain't right I tell you.

The "rules" the Amish live by are determined by the Elders of that group. They can be quite strict or fairly loose. And can vary by a fair bit from colony to colony even as neighbors. Cell phones can be fine for one group and be forbidden for the next.

Like some much in life, the rules are open to interpretation.

I keep trying to make that doughnut. And maybe someday I will succeed - or not.

These "critical fire" danger warnings from NOAA are really starting to wear on me. Living in drought conditions for 2 years is killing everything. I watch the radar and there is rain falling all around me, but very few drops for this area. And living in the middle of a forest makes for uneasy sleep.

It might be our turn to burn like Canada.
