A beloved social news reading platform has been carefully inching towards full connectivity with the Fediverse. This update is the closest yet.

With more social and blogging platforms joining the Fediverse in the future, there will undoubtedly be some confusion over how to display user handles online. Many people will probably forget to add the extra “@” symbol and instead type out an email address on their blog or social network.

  • Posts federated to other fediverse platforms automatically have ("out-of-band") hashtags applied, so others can view and follow your post context from e.g. mastodon or gotosocial
• Interact with the wider fediverse! Post, share, and interact with other Gush! instances, as well as other services that communicate via activitypub.
  • Comments, quotations, and reviews from Bookwyrm will also apply Gush!-style context and review ratings

• Supported payment methods: Monero, a peer to peer digital cash system where transactions are private by default.
• Account migrations (from one server to another). Identity can be detached from the server.
• Federation over Tor and/or I2P.

Coming soon in the #Peertube livechat plugin: notes for moderators.

Moderatos will be able to create notes. Like the existing TODO-list feature, editing will be done in real time: if Mike creates or modifies a note, all of other moderators will see it right away.

Notes can be reordered, also in real time.

And it will be possible to associate a note with an occupant. That way, moderators can take notes on problematic participants. (This part remains to be done).
