If anyone listens to this, can you post a tl;dr?

I don’t have 45 minutes to listen to a podcast. I just want to know companies and devices, because afaik most major devices/OSes are locked down and require at least user permissions for accessing things like the mic, and companies can have their apps pulled for violating TOS.

Looks like this 404 Media report caught some attention, but it looks like Cox Media Group was lying about what they are/were able to do.

I also didn't want to sit through 40+ minutes of podcast, so I found a writeup on their site about a press release from Cox Media Group making some bold claims that they have since backtracked on.
