Donjon mentioned ! I had no idea this comic was even known outside of french speaking communities. I don't remember who appears there though. ~~My first guess is Guillaume de la Cour~~ I missed the part about these being the first appearance of a character. So it's not Guillaume de la Cour
I'll give you a couple hints:
It's one of the ~four core characters of the series.
At the time he's just a low-level type, working for the keeper. And we already know he's not Marvin the dragon.
That's gotta be Herbert then. Which fits because I think this excerpt might be from issue #1 of the Zenith series. But technically, in the universe's chronology he does appear once before that moment (in the Monsters issue about Jean-Jean I think)... But it was also released after/during the Zenith run in the real world iirc.

It's basically a cameo, he appears for like 3 panels at most. The group knocks at the dungeon's door and he's the one who greets them.
