I mean, you say that like its a cheap trick but its honestly refreshing to see some kind of pedestrian safety measure in an American city.

I'm pointing out that they explicitly stand behind those. I am sure the bollard posts are not throughout the whole of the city. They specifically picked that corner because the posts are there, because they're afraid of someone running their dumb, goofy asses over with their vehicle.

Essentially, they're not brave enough to stand on that other corner that's in this same photograph.
