I dunno much about burning cars. Is this effective? Seems like dumping it underneath might result in a better fire, but not as showy for the camera. The windshield doesn’t strike me as a particularly flame affected area, but it looks like a bunch drained down into the engine bay.

The cabin air intake is at the bottom of the front windshield on most vehicles, so a lot of that fuel is going into the car's ventilation system.

It's probably an effective way to light a car on fire.

At the base of the windshield is a water collection and drain system. This is usually all plastic and flammable. It also drains down to the ground.

So the primary point of ignition is the drain tray. The flames on the ground might catch some parts of the engine compartment on fire as well.
