The Arsia Mons Elongated Cloud forms when Mars' atmosphere interacts with the tall volcano, creating a spectacular sight.

Since we're just making up an emotion for the cloud to "feel" for the headline why does it have to be lonely? Why can't it at least be horny or something?

Lonely can also mean, "without others of a simplest) similar kind," so it's not inaccurate.
