Since the federation the comment sections got so inflammatory. Literally everything gets turned into some political "capitalism bad" or "the west bad" discussion. It made Lemmy very annoying for me to use....

Just block the users that do this, and there will be a instance blocking feature soon too

Personally I chose this instance so I wouldn't randomly get defederated from other instances and I would have to switch to another instance if this happened.

Why should I play wack-a-mole everytime I like to read comments? Just remove that cesspool all togheter. Do you really benefit from anything on hexbear? Go over there and find a community you would really miss, and then show me. Please.

Also this instance is already blocking things like exploding-heads and lemmygrad

Nop, I can read lemmygrad posts and comments.

I too would like to be in control whos comments I read and whos not to. So no, pleas do not defederate. If you want it managed for you, beewag would be the place.

Guess what? It's managed for you here. And everywhere. Every place defederates with some other place. The only way to have what you want is to run your own instance and never defederate.

How could I find out whit which places a instance defederated

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 year ago

At the bottom of the webpage for each instance is a link that says "Instances" If you click on that it shows all of the instances that are federated first. Then below that is the list of blocked instances. Easiest way to look is by doing "ctrl + f" and searching for "blocked" and that will normally get you to that list the fastest.

You can see this list whether you are a member or not of that instance. You just need to make sure you go to the actual instance and are not viewing it from your "home" instance account.
