MODERATORS

Such as the instances that beehaw filters out? I want my feed filled up with all sorts of diversity.

You can't, that's the point. Just make a new account somewhere else.

If I make an account on some random instance that has nothing filtered, will I still be able to interact with these communities?

"still"?

There is a certain risk that a server that federates with really questionable instances might get blocked by Beehaw and other well moderated instances as well.

Well, how can I get a feed that I myself curate? If this isn't possible, I don't see this thing taking off.

If you really want an instance that does not block any other instance (at the moment) check out https://mander.xyz

You are gonna need to self host or be abject to someone else's rules.

Is there no instance out there that has full freedom so I can put whatever I want in my feed?

It’s problematic. Plenty of instances host illegal content, and you don’t want that liability as an instance admin. Other instances do things that abuse the network, like post unmitigated spam.
