I appreciate the scanlation team's explanation, I had a vague idea about how confusing the whole "suki" thing can be thanks to reading copious amounts of romcoms but this in-dept explanation was really welcome to clear things up! Poor Umami might be an aromantic and the vagueness of Japanese language is not helping her at all here!
She keeps woodpeckering those trees with her head and she will end up with brain damage.
As for the translation, they handled this chapter super well. I had seen your comment before reading the chapter and thought it was going to be about the abundant homophones in Japanese, but this was a great TN for lots of people I am sure.
