You can collapse a comment with a long press. Personally I think the long press and short press functions should switch.. or be toggleable in settings.

Exactly! That is what my reflexes want to do.
I would also prefer a short press to collapse child comments.
This was also one of my favourite features of Apollo, so that I could easily move on from a single comment thread.
I found this trying to find out how to collapse a comment thread. It's the one feature I'm missing from Connect to make it my full time lemmy app.
Hi @[email protected] thanks for the feedback! I've added the option on 1.0.39 to switch the tap and long press actions on comments so this is now possible! (Also the original post comment will collapse as well).
I don't mind holding to collapse a comment, but I'd like a collapsing animation included to make it more in line with the other animations in the app.
