This is keyboard #3 for me. I think I am finally there. Good feel with the Glorious Pandas (pre-lubed), good sound with a custom internal pad (poly-fill layers wrapped in tape and cut to size). Matching green metal knob from lovemyswitches (turns out knobs from guitar effects pedals fit well and come in a huge variety).

Anyway, I think I am done. My attention has been shifted to classic typewriters. I recently fell in love with the early 1970's Galaxie Twelve in Atomic Blue. (look it up, you too will be smitten). Now THAT is a mechanical keyboard!

that really is a nice typewriter. I wonder if that spacebar integration can be done on mx as well, because it's looking really good.

I agree! That "spacebar as case" is a great look. I would love to see some more case creativity in the hobby, but I am not sure the numbers would support manufacturing. We probably need Hipyo tech to start reviewing typewriters. "THE CLACKIEST TYPER...THE BEST MOD TO MAKE THAT BELL REALLY DING". No hate though, I like watching him.

I think the problem might be sound, because the spacebar (and pcb) would be right on top of solid material and the sound can escape to the front. I guess it'll sound very flat and no one wants to spend 300 bucks on a bad sounding spacebar.

Looks really nice. Where did you get the keycap set? I have a V6 (lower end version of the Q6) and I have been looking for a full size keycap set that includes the four macro keys. Unless they were an add-on of some kind?

It was a full set with soooo many extras. I would be surprised if there is any keyboard it doens't cover. It was on etsy. The store is jellykeycaps. It took a while, shipped from China, but the quality was excellent. Highly reccomend. I paid $71 for the set.

Extras are really nice if you decide to pick up a macro pad and you want to match the style.

This looks great, I have been tempted by the 9009 colourway but have not pulled the trigger on it yet. I really like the beige retro schemes. Did you buy this as a barebones board? If not, what was your thoughts on the KSA keycaps those Q Pro boards come with?

I did buy this barebones, but just before the pro was availabe in white, I bought the fully loaded Q6 (non pro) in dark grey. The keycaps were good! The grey one has since somehow found its way to my son's apartment, but I liked the stock keycaps.

I'll have to check out the effects pedal knobs! I have an actual guitar knob on mine, but I had to sand down the underside a bit to get it to have enough clearance to click easily. I'll have to check out effects pedal knobs!
