It's not climate change, it's nuclear proliferation," he said. "We've got to be very careful about what we're trying to accomplish in the next couple of years.

I think we have to just have clarity and subordinate a lot of things to make sure this ends up right.

I hope he's not trying to deprioritize climate change to justify profit in the name of WWII

I mean at least his head isn't up his ass about where the major threats (to US and NATO allies) come from.

The problem with any statements about WWIII, if made during an election period, is that they intimidate the average citizen and lead them to vote for Trump and his destructive isolationist policy. Such statements are either deliberately made to achieve exactly this result or due to a lack of knowledge about the fact that absolutely any threatening declarations by Putin on nuclear war are pure lies and bluster. In 2022, even some totally incompetent people from Biden's administration believed in this bluster seriously, and then imagined they had prevented a nuclear war. What a shame.

What will definitely lead to WWIII with 100% probability is a policy of non-intervention, NATO deconstruction, and concessions to all totalitarian frostbites, which any concessions are perceived as weakness and an invitation for the immediate start or continuation of aggressive unrestrained actions.

Typical Newsweek bullshit to try and prop up Trump for being "tough on Iran," like he didn't try to provoke a war himself.

I sure would like Newsweek to finally produce the inventor of bitcoin. They are not a legitimate news organization.

Reminder:

In August 1945, the United States dropped two atomic bombs on Japan, becoming the first and only nation to use nuclear weapons during wartime.
