I’m not a fan of country music, at least not any modern country, but I definitely admire Brooks for taking a bold stance against the hateful mindset that is prevalent amongst what is likely a not-insignificant portion of his fan base. Given the flak that Target and Bud Light have gotten, he will definitely lose fans for this. If this is reflective of his overall character, he probably won’t miss them one bit.

Garth has a gay family member (his sister), and has taken as big a stance against ticket resellers as someone can. He caps prices for tickets to his shows and often does multiple shows in one visit to a city so demand and supply come closer to one another.

Garth is definitely "one of the good ones." Basically everything he does is driven by trying to make as many people happy as possible.

I must say, you speak very articulate English for a Jawa.

But yeah, I'm not a fan of his music really but he's always shown to have a decent head on his shoulders. Good for him in taking this stance against so much vitriol.

This is objectively a good thing, but I can't help but worry that this'll be the new target of bomb threats with the way the political climate down there is right now.

Stay safe, stay strong, never forget pride was a riot.

Can't let that stop things, or the terrorists win

Terrorists got us into a 20 year war that changed nothing. They drained our economy, and had a hand in lowering our rights via the patriot act. Terrorists win. We just have to be vigilant.

I'm going to send this headline back in time to 2010 and see what people make of it. Imagine making sense of it a year ago lol.

Garth has always supported LGBTQ, so it shouldn't come as much of a surprise.

Just listen to We Shall be Free, released in 1992.

It’s more the entire meat of it not any one part.

Literally the thought I had. I was like how the hell did we get here... Why is this even a thing. Haha.

He and Trisha put on a good show. I saw them perform in a conservative state right after Trump was elected. Trisha wore rainbow items and it was clear the environment was one of support.

Garth continues to have friends in low places!*

Glad to hear such a forward stance on his bar. I haven’t kept up with country music for a while but I believe he still draws quite the crowd and maintained their respect as a country music legend. Anyone on the out about this won’t be missed.

*(This is a reference to one of his songs! It’s one of my favorites to drunk karaoke. )

I love drinking bud light at events where people get butt hurt over it.

I don't even like Bud Light, it's a damn shame such a mediocre beer became the focus of a silly controversy. I started buying it when I went on beer runs just to show my support haha

I can't for the life of me understand why people are so bent out of shape about a brand supporting the trans community. Hate is their whole identity

They just want to be the ones in power so they can indiscriminately shit on anyone. As a brown man I'm deeply uncomfortable. I'm seeing a lot of similar rhetoric thrown around after 9/11 that made my life a living hell for a while. Frick
