Depression jokes are OUT.

Hyperbolic overconfidence jokes are IN.

Sadness CANNOT overtake you anymore. You are simply TOO POWERFUL and TOO SEXY.

I am the powerful sex God of sadness.

I yeet unhappiness and skeet confidence.

You are all blessed today

Yep I am DONE with your constant self-flagellation. EMBRACE AND CELEBRATE THE WONDERFUL BEING THAT YOU ARE.

A lot of British humour revolves around self-deprecation, death, etc. I only realised this after my Dutch colleagues didn't laugh when one of them offered me a drink and I asked for petrol.

I think some are around, but in true fediverse style I'm not actually sure where, or how to find them.

Anyway, while I get it and can relate to a bunch of them, I did see someone call it out as "misery porn" and they have a point. You do you, everyone, but ruminating/basking in negative bullshit is not especially healthy.

Hi there! Looks like you linked to a Lemmy community using a URL instead of its name, which doesn't work well for people on different instances. Try fixing it like this: [email protected]

In the flat earth world, do you just fall forever? Or what happens there exactly?

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 year ago (3 children)

I don't think gravity is a thing for them. I think they think things fall because that's just what they do, possibly because God Said So.

So it's got to be the fall forever thing, right?

Maybe there’s some larger flatter earth that you would eventually splatter on.

Now if you had a parachute and you packed a lunch, maybe you could safely land, and then try to jump off the edge of that flat earth.

To a giant turtle shell. And that turtle is standing on another turtle. In fact it's just turtles all the way down. Don't ask me what they eat though.

They didn't used to deny gravity, but since a flat earth is incompatible with gravity, they had to deny its existence, too.

They just believe the earth and everything else is accelerating upwards. People that think like that should just be forced to go through all of school again because clearly their reasoning skills failed them.

By gods, it's THE flat earth itself! The flerfers are right! /s

Antarctica is a huge ice wall that prevents us from falling, according to the flat earthers.
