I think my brain was expecting the plug to be mounted like it was on the Gen 1 pencil. I guess I thought the angle was weird because I couldn’t see how a plug’s depth would fit in the small cylindrical pencil shape. That section is inside the pencil when you're using it, and you pull it out when you need to charge the pencil (probably once a week or so).
