A "Showerthought" is a simple term used to describe the thoughts that pop into your head while you're doing everyday things like taking a shower, driving, or just daydreaming. A showerthought should offer a unique perspective on an ordinary part of life.

There was a period of time when people had to memorize the alphabet before there was a song.

The order of letters in the alphabet has no meaning, A needs not come before B, its just that way because of the song.

“The alphabet” could just as easily be qwertyuiopasdfghjklzxcvbnm

The order of the alphabet is older than the song, it goes back to the phoenicians

The alphabet is qwertyuiopasdfghjklzxcvbnm, depending on your point of reference :)

This actually blew my mind and I can't decide if it's just because I'm high or not

The song also only works in English. Plenty of non-English people learn the alphabet without the song.

The Croatian Eurovision entry this year featured their alphabet, maybe they can use that from now on.

My maths teacher used to make us do the odd questions. My friend and I made a song for acegikmoqsuwy. Anything is possible.
