I don't see how any phone user would actually do anything other then top left

Be sure to follow the rule before you head out.
Rule: You must post before you leave.
Okay here me out. Imagine its like 101F outside (this temperature is hot to humans, really hot). If you were to put your phone in your sweaty pocket screen-to-thigh you will get condensation on the screen (due to being pressed against the leg, no ventilation style). The condensation might fog up your screen protector if you have other than the adhesive glass type. Additionally, any pocket lint in your pocket will get stuck to a sweaty thigh phone, making the screen gross and hard to see/use. The above principle applies for shirt pockets.
Top left like a normal person
Top left. Also, pro tip: if you're a dork like me who sticks their hands in their pockets and accidentally unlocks their phone with the fingerprint scanner, remove your non-dominant hand's fingerprints and always put your phone in that same hand's pocket. E.g. if you are right handed, remove your left hand fingerprints and always put your phone in your left pocket. That way you need to remove the phone from the pocket and transfer it to your other hand before you can unlock it.
I'm sorry it is literally impossible to put my phone in any other pocket.
If you do anything other than top left then I'm guessing the only reason you carry a smartphone is for the taste.
Seriously who the fuck does anything other than that? It would actually require more effort as you have to reposition the phone in your hand and THEN put it in your pocket instead of just putting it in your fucking pocket.
God damn reprobates
Top left. I've just mimed out Top Right and it hurts my brain and wrist.
back pocket gang sound off:
As a woman. The few pants that I own that can fit a phone I do top left.
Top left for sure. I'm always worried I'll bump into something and break my screen.
This is turning into a goldmine for pickpocketer awareness haha.
I don’t care as long as my screen isn’t touching my keys I’m good
You don't put your phone in the same pocket ae the key.
This is the rule no 0
Bottom right, front left pocket. Wallet goes in the back right pocket. Keys go in the front right pocket.
Bottom right.
I was a top left for a long time, recent bottom right convert over here
Back right pocket. Screen towards me.
top left. it's easier to grab the phone and see what time or notification is without readjusting it
Used to do bottom left when my phone had a bad touch screen and would interact with my thigh. Ever since getting a pixel, top left.
I'm bottom right, because my thigh accidentally called emergency services three times one day (three calls, one right after another, and I only noticed the third one). Turns out my slightly sweaty thigh activated the screen (tap to wake) and tapped the "Emergency" button on the OnePlus lock screen. So now I turn the screen outward in my pocket out of fear of that happening again.
Women on this thread: cries in no pockets
Top left, plus Gravity Screen so it can't wake up and do silly things.
Gravity screen seems to be too old for my version of Android :(
That's annoying. I can't immediately find a replacement. Maybe Google has done something that prevents further development.
I'll attempt to contact the author for more info and will reply here if I can find this post again :)
This is the most correct answer, because it results in the phone being in the correct orientation in your hand when you take it out. fite me.
No idea, it's random every time.
Bottom right, pixel has fingerprint sensor on the back and its very easy to accidentaly unlock when putting in my pocket, so thigh taps are dangerous.
top left, but top right if I'm listening to music (I have a pixel with the headphone jack on the top)
Top left, except in my left pocket
And I thought no one does anything but bottom left! Bottom left all the way, top left is weird. Y'all are nuts.
You sir are insane are you not scared of bumping into a corner of a table and cracking your screen
Never had a screen crack on me from that, but I smack enough corners with my legs that I probably should be wary.
This has convinced me to change
The top left, helps me when I put my earbuds in the same pocket so I don't worry about scratching my screen.
Top Right is how I use it, but I dont think its the "right way".
The screen has to be in, or else the case cant protect it if something impacts it (had a phone screen break on me once because it was facing out and I ran into a countertop). Top Left does make more sense, but somehow I got into a habit of twirling my phone so its top right.
So maybe top left is the "correct" answer to protect your phone from breakage, but I still have a habit of top right.
While wearing jeans: Bottom, there are stupid little metal things that stick out and will scratch the screen otherwise
Otherwise: Top, it's more convenient.
With my current model of phone, bottom left/top right specifically. There's a camera bar on it that makes it easier to pull out that way.
Top right. Who faces their screen outward? Also when using the top left method, isn't it a pain to have to pull your phone out more than top right to check the time or an incoming notification?
Bottom right.
My headphones jack is on the bottom, fingerprint sensor on the back. Also it seems less likely to scratch the screen if it's just against the outside of my pants instead of pressing into my thigh
Oh no, I'm top right. Please don't hurt me.
I don't. I do have a specific place in my bag that has nothing else in it and has a soft lining. I do have leggings with pockets but I rarely wear anything but comfy close anymore so wither in my hand or in my bag. Also leg sweat on a phone, ew.
If I have to put my phone in my pants pocket, its bottom right. But that a rare occurrence.
