Good.
But they add so much value to the supply chain for an item, you gotta feel sorry for these poor parasites π’
The only thing worse than scalpers are people who buy from scalpers and perpetuate the cycle of scalping.
Limited Edition can mean, "Available only for this period," and not actually limited in quantity.
I hope the scalpers go bankrupt.
That'd be some top tier trolling by Valve lol.
Not impossible, one of their goals for it is to see how many people would want one, so with a 2-4 week promised lead time they might be planning to manufacture them entirely according to the demand.
I don't know where 2-4 weeks comes from, maybe Canada(Your comment isn't the first time I've seen it)?
The delivery date (at least what I'm seeing) is 1-2 weeks, not the shipping date.
For instance, mine already has a label ready, just waiting on UPS to update for the estimated day.
Said so on the page itself at the bottom.
Maybe they sold what stock they had and since updated it to take into account the manufacturing or a second batch?
Iβm pretty salty its not available in EU
Iβm still salty that its not available (the normal one) in alot of countries (asian). I had to get mine through a scalper last year. I am not proud of that, and disappointed in myself but I really wanted one.
Where in asia? Because you could've just got it from KOMODO in most cases.
Singapore! This was before komodo however.
It's probably due to warranty and lacking of (hardware) valve support office in Asia. Can't sell without warranty and shipping transcontinental can get expensive...
I think the stuff about "experimenting" with limited editions is because they're trying to find ways to make it hard for scalpers to buy them. That's why they've got stuff about having a Steam Account in good standing etc.. Maybe it's actually working!
Iβm a little sad I canβt buy one. Iβm not a bot, Iβm just new to this world!
i'd like to buy one, too, but i'm not in the us π
Happy birthday, little one

Indeed not, but that is a good thing. I was pleasantly surprised that I was able to order one two hours after it went live. They did initially show as sold out (actually went back and forth several times), so it is conceivable that Valve identified and cancelled a bunch of bot-generated orders so that actual people are able to get one.
The downside is that I spent more money than I really wanted to spend, but whatever.
Maybe the limitation is meant in the geograpical sense and not in quantity?
Casually bought mine 12 hours after release π
I was going to buy one at launch but the ordering system shit the bed and I bought the 512gb instead thinking the limited edition was sold out. Oh well, it was more than I wanted to spend anyway.
