I'm interested in making some lofi hip-hop beats to share on funkwhale, just to try out the hobby and see how I like it. What's my best bet for a foss solution? I'm not going to be very serious at all, at least for the foreseeable future, so if the solution isn't ideal, that's okay -- I'm more interested in seeing what the community has to offer than using state-of-the-art software. I run a Windows machine, but do development on an Ubuntu WSL image, and I have access to a Mac, if that helps narrow it down.

Can't speak to best as I'm not a musician, but a few options off the top of my head are:

Also if you're recording from a mic or something, then I think Audacity may still be top of the line for recording and then importing into the aforementioned tools.
