Unfortunately you have to either hide all NSFW content or block each porn community one by one. I just opted to hide all of it until Lemmy adds a way to block entire instances.
No Stupid Questions
No such thing. Ask away!
!nostupidquestions is a community dedicated to being helpful and answering each others' questions on various topics.
The rules for posting and commenting, besides the rules defined here for lemmy.world, are as follows:
Rules (interactive)
Rule 1- All posts must be legitimate questions. All post titles must include a question.
All posts must be legitimate questions, and all post titles must include a question. Questions that are joke or trolling questions, memes, song lyrics as title, etc. are not allowed here. See Rule 6 for all exceptions.
Rule 2- Your question subject cannot be illegal or NSFW material.
Your question subject cannot be illegal or NSFW material. You will be warned first, banned second.
Rule 3- Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here.
Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here. Breaking this rule will not get you or your post removed, but it will put you at risk, and possibly in danger.
Rule 4- No self promotion or upvote-farming of any kind.
That's it.
Rule 5- No baiting or sealioning or promoting an agenda.
Questions which, instead of being of an innocuous nature, are specifically intended (based on reports and in the opinion of our crack moderation team) to bait users into ideological wars on charged political topics will be removed and the authors warned - or banned - depending on severity.
Rule 6- Regarding META posts and joke questions.
Provided it is about the community itself, you may post non-question posts using the [META] tag on your post title.
On fridays, you are allowed to post meme and troll questions, on the condition that it's in text format only, and conforms with our other rules. These posts MUST include the [NSQ Friday] tag in their title.
If you post a serious question on friday and are looking only for legitimate answers, then please include the [Serious] tag on your post. Irrelevant replies will then be removed by moderators.
Rule 7- You can't intentionally annoy, mock, or harass other members.
If you intentionally annoy, mock, harass, or discriminate against any individual member, you will be removed.
Likewise, if you are a member, sympathiser or a resemblant of a movement that is known to largely hate, mock, discriminate against, and/or want to take lives of a group of people, and you were provably vocal about your hate, then you will be banned on sight.
Rule 8- All comments should try to stay relevant to their parent content.
Rule 9- Reposts from other platforms are not allowed.
Let everyone have their own content.
Rule 10- Majority of bots aren't allowed to participate here.

I think hiding entire instances are available via certain apps
Not while browsing on "All", but this is easily remedied by maintaining a subscription list and browsing on "Subscribed". Typically, porn is limited to specific communities which can just be not added to your subscription list.
Yea.
All isn't your personal feed.
Use "subscribed" and subscribe to stuff you want to see.
But I love to browse Everything any day to find new instances I haven't heard of yet or which are fairly new. I can understand that person's interest.
Y’all are complying about porn in your feeds but mine has hardly anything except for the furry stuff :-/
Well, OP is from lemmy.world, where there are tens of thousands of people connecting the instance to the various porn communities, so of course there's a lot in the All feed. Over at lemmy.ninja, we have hardly any. Our paltry 150 users must not be that in to the pr0n.
You're on lemmy.ml, which defederated from lemmynsfw.com (where most of the porn comes from). I was on lemmy.ml too, which was nice, but their slur filter is annoying as fuck. For example if I type 'bitch' you'll not see it, you'll see 'removed' on lemmy.ml (while the entire rest of the fediverse sees the original word). If you want to see the word, follow the lemmy.world instance link (rainbow icon).
Random censorship annoyed me so much, I switched to lemmy.world. But now 'All' is flooded by porn communities I have to block :-/
wait I thought I was on lemmy.world wtf
You are on lemmy.world, the person I responded to is on lemmy.ml.
It doesn't catch everything, but if you use uBlock Origin you can add your own filters to block large swathes of it. Unfortunately, still doesn't affect one's ability to recommend lemmy.world.

lemmy.world##.post-listing:has-text(@pornlemmy.com)
Using Sync, which just released, you can filter instances you don't wanna see. I did the same with lemmynsfw lol
Make an account on an instance that does not federate with porn instances, like Lemmy.ml or Lemmygrad.ml.
That way, nsfw posts will show up (crisis photos, raunchy memes, etc.) but literal porn will not.
Most general-purpose instances don't allow porn so as long as your home instance blocks them, you're good.
sopuli.xyz is pretty good
Same here, I started with lemmy.ml and that was nice (as lemmynsfw.com was defederated). But their random slur filter was too annoying, especially when the rest of the fediverse sees the actual words.
So I switched to lemmy.world, but I probably already have 50+ NSFW communities in my block filter and they keep coming :(
I haven't seen any nsfw yet, and I'm on .world via Snyc as well.
I'll probably make a diff account to join the nsfw instance (if I'm understanding how this works)
This annoys me also because using the "all" feed is also the best way to find new communities to subscribe to. But watching the "all feed" on any public transportation is just very risky :-)
why not have a SFW account and a NSFW account?
I assume it’s the same for OP but I don’t want to block all nsfw posts. There is a difference between porn and graphic videos and pictures(most of them not being really that graphic).
Are you asking for a difference between NSFW and NSFL?
Lemmy should add something that differentiates porn from other nsfw types of content.
Same with nsfl stuff to be honest.
I feel like there's three types of nsfw content that people either want to see or want to hide all of: porn, gore, other (eg drugs).
Having one tag/flair to cover them all was always a mistake for social media.
Agreed but I'd also add "sexual content" as something distinct from "porn", potentially content that is less graphic, could be questions about sex or genitals, or discussions about sex, but still not appropriate for many environments. I get that you can split hairs about this kind of stuff forever, but when it comes to non-pornographic sexual content I think it's prolific enough that it deserves its own category separate from "other" that people would want to allow or block specifically.
