Basically the title. If there was a legion/gene-seed that could be considered the "greediest"/most covetous of material wealth. I see Fulgrim being a reasonable option, but I wanna know if there's a loyalist equivalent at all.

A 2 hour long video on the themes of Khorne and Chaos as false consciousness opposed to revolutionary violence? Yes, I think I will watch this while eating leftover pizza for breakfast.

Slowly working my way through a BUNCH of vehicles and finally decided to bite the bullet and do the camo. Still a lot of work to go, but this is a huge jump in terms of looking done. Masking tape took 8x longer to put on than actually painting did. As someone new to an airbrush, I must say that it's definitely faster and smoother than using a brush, but I really need to improve my aim. There's some nasty overspray in various places which is going to have to be touched up by hand, but I'm generally very happy with this.

The commissars don’t want you to know this but the guardsmen at Tartarus are free! You can just take them into the chapter. I have an entire 10th company of ~~stolen~~ guardsmen.

There's a video within the article right here.

I subscribed to the channel as well; glad I found it.

The video itself is 46 minutes and 21 seconds.

And had a pretty good time! Definitely seemed shorter than our games of 40k at around 2.5 hours, even though it was our first game. Tried using 9e Tempest of War missions which was probably a mistake as most of them don't make sense with alternating activations lol (and my opponent was guaranteed victory when he drew Raise Banner, Secure No Man's Land, and Tempting Target all on the same turn). Most of the proxies made sense, though there's the odd weirdness like primaris units having 2+ saves but still only one wound.

Other thoughts: Tanks felt super tough but otherwise weak unless you spend tons of points on upgrading the main guns, which was disappointing. 2k points definitely felt low. Psykers were more complex but pretty fun. The decision of whether to activate what you wanted or something that would probably die if you didn't activate it right now really added some extra pressure that I enjoyed.

RIP my Manticore that died first activation to a Scouted ATV with a Deadly (6) multimelta.

Final Score: Imperial Guard 65 - Space Marines 78

I played my first two games of Infinity today with a friend who is really into the game. The game is fun but the lore seems to be dogshit. Like worse than 40k in some aspects. Given I only heard about if from my friend but from their explanation the factions seem to be weird.

Apparently one of the factions consists of a bunch of Cryptobros and Ancaps in space and has a subfraction named Bakunin. The China inspired faction is presented as the rival to the main power in the universe because they believe they should be the rulers of everything instead. I guess Haqqislam is pretty cool though so there is that at least.

Edit: Also just learned that Haqqislam has a unit called "Hakims" ... and they are doctors.

What are your thoughts on the game?

Ending was pretty selfaware:

"He [General Bendikt of Cadian 101th] paused on the lip of the portal for one last look at Potence. The rebellion had been crushed, the Scourged had been thrown back and most importantly, Cadian honour had been restored. Some might call Potence a wasteland. But to the military minds of the Astra Militarum, this was peace."

Note: Potence is basically an agri world with one city (and it wasn't even a hive city) being quiet residence of sector-ruling noble house so disgustingly rich they are even named "Richstar". And the "wasteland" is unusual for 40k exaggeration, capital got devastated and millions died but rest of planet was implied to be not touched by fights.

My Guard vs buddy's AdMech, still playing 9th because 10th fucked both our factions, doing Tempest because fixed objectives suck. Also only 1k points. I brought a bit of a meme list because my guard have been undefeated in our play group (vanquisher russ w/ the reroll tank ace, deathstrike, ogryn instead of bullgryn, triple scout sentinels in a single unit with plasma cannons that I intended to charge with). The weird thing is that this objectively worse version of my list costs more points, thank you James Workshop.

Highlights:

  • A deathstrike doing literally nothing all game because it's so easy to avoid (I could have taken the lame missiles but it's godslayer or nothing)
  • The Vanquisher Russ needing to command reroll 2 wound rolls to do anything (though it did one-shot an onager and kill two breachers)
  • The Datasmith just charging a plasma Russ and living the rest of his days in melee because I had nothing to charge him with and nothing with good enough shooting to justify falling back
  • 3 sentinels living in melee with a tech priest all game while holding his deployment objective
  • Only living models at end of game: deathstrike, 2 tech priests, 3 skitarii rangers

Final Score: Guard 67-AdMech 37

I'm painting a Stormcast army in an original color scheme, and I know so little about their organization. Do I need to invent a whole Stormhost for them, or can individual Chambers/Conclaves of a Stormhost have their own unique names, color schemes, etc.? I'm more familiar with 40K Astartes structures, or Chaos warbands. The military structure of the Stormcast sort of confuses me. I imagine Stormhosts are more like Astartes Legions, with individual Chambers varying in color schemes and character like the Astartes Chapters. Since AoS is very open to making your army your own.

I thought I saw something about a Chamber from one of the big Stormhosts that took on the symbols and colors of one of the Cities of Sigmar. I'd like to tie my Stormcast to my (hopefully) future Cities of Sigmar army, thematically and lorewise.
