Ya know, the classic “says some vague thing you have to interpret before the eventual reveal” thing.

I’ve been thinking a lot about Fate/Samurai Remnant recently and I keep going back to a statement echoed many many times. (Vague SR Spoilers)“Iori… you were born in the wrong era…”

The last words of protagonist Miyamoto Iori’s master and adoptive father, these words can form the core of the game’s themes. A truly sad statement, that you only understand fully when the game reaches it’s thematic climax in NG+

By the end, ya can’t think of a better way to describe Iori.

I just beat Lies of P and god damn is it incredible. It's such a well built, well structured game that iterated on so many aspects of the Soulslike genre. This game knocks it out of the park with it's weapons, bosses, world design, enemies, literally all aspects of this game is exceptional. I personally cannot wait for what the studio does next.

The teaser at the end made me laughing with hype.

So… Babylon’s Fall ended service before even hitting that 1 year anniversary.

I couldn’t play any video games during the time it was active due to personal reasons, so I was super bummed when the game closed forever.

Squeenix didn’t even leave it in a state that was playable offline. At least Avengers is still playable for anyone who bought the game, so I enjoyed it from start to finish for what it was.

Looked up if there was a private server or anything for Babylon’s fall, but nope. Literally nothing. No news or anything in the last months after its EOS. Just completely dead and gone and forgotten.

Do you guys also have an obscure(I guess it’s obscure now?) game that you wanted to play, but never got to/will never get to ever again because they’ve been deleted forever?

Inspired by a post on r/DeathBattleMatchups with the same premise, some of your favorite fictional characters now have to live together in a single house. How do they react to each other and anyway they can get along?

Edit: Also by “favorite fictional characters” I mean characters from any media. Doesn’t just have to be your favorite characters from only one media in case that wasn’t already clear.

I've been reading a lot Batman comics recently and somewhere in the middle of the 70's it suddenly hit me. You know those stupid moves Batman pulls in the Arkham games when he's in focus flow? He jumps between targets, does backflips and levitates through the air to hit motherfuckers that are 10 feet away. If you've seen it you know. It looks really fucking silly and uncanny.

Batman wouldn't fight like that. He does kung fu and shit. Very orthodox and graceful movment, right? WRONG!

That's exactly how he fights in the comics. He pulls moves that make no sense whatsoever. Some straight up KAPOW Adam West shit. Doing running dive kicks. Hitting three people at the same time by doing a flip kick. Punching with both fists etc. It's like he has combined gymnastics with martial arts. That's what makes him such a freaky opponent. His movment looks unreal.

Now that I've realized this I've gained more appritiation for Arkham combat for taking inspiration from the comics.

I'll start off: I found out that Mark Millar did a reboot of one of the "Nemesis" story he wrote years ago, the reboot being called "Nemesis Reloaded". Now the original story, as well as Millar himself, are known for being overly edgy to the point of the story quality diminishing greatly as a result of it all. And...that rings true for Nemesis Reloaded. To give the gist of it, the story is basically "What if Batman was a villain and a terrorist"? And from there, it's just five issues of him showing off how cool and smart he is and how he's 10 steps ahead of everyone else, which, unsurprisingly, made the story kinda boring because no one made him struggle at any point in the main story.

It ends with the continued jerking on how cool and awesome he's supposed to be, except for when they flashback to a big plot reveal they were hinting at that's actually quite interesting (spoilers for both the comic and Mark Millar stories) Nemesis Reloaded takes place in the same universe as Wanted. Throughout the story, it flashes back to Nemesis when he was younger, being trained by a mysterious organization, with the leader telling him about the mystery of the president that America literally forgot existed. Once Nemesis completes his training, it's revealed that the president was forgotten because he knew about an era where super heroes were common place, as well as when all the villains teamed up to defeat them all and take over the world. The mysterious man takes off his mask to reveal himself as Wesley Gibson (no longer designed to look like Eminem, thankfully), and welcomes Gibson into their fraternity, implying more to come.

I'm not the biggest fan of Wanted. In fact, I think the movie, for all it's flaws, does multiple things better. But that final reveal actually had me nodding my head and going "Okay! If we're doing this, I'm interested and seeing where it'll go, for better or for worse."

Title is a bit of a mess but I'm talking about times when an old character is replaced by a new character to do a new storyline but the old character sticks around either due to popularity or something else like in Yakuza. Yakuza 6 tried to end Kiryu's story by leaving the dojo clan to dojima, majima, and saejima, and showing haruka happy with her new family allowing Kiryu to finally leave behind the yakuza lifestyle. This allowed the yakuza studio to introduce Ichiban as the new lead.

Unfortunately for them, one year after Yakuza 6 released, yakuza 0 released in the west and people loved it. People wanted more and the studio gave them all 6 yakuza games. The problem was that as more and more people fell in love with the games, they also fell in love with kiryu. So in a span of 3 years, kiryu went from unknown niche MC to one of Sega's most popular characters.

Now the studio had to somehow introduce a new MC while people were begging for more kiryu. So now they brought him back as a side character with a new storyline despite his story ending on him escaping the underbelly of the world and even gave him a new spinoff. Just found it kinda funny how they're trying to market Ichiban as the new face of Yakuza while still saying that Kiryu is still here and plays prominent part in the yakuza story despite trying to write him off.

So I started watching the Good Omens show based off of Terry Pratchett's book recently, and in the first couple of episodes, the forces of heaven and hell are setting the stage for the incoming apocalypse after the birth of the antichrist, and part of this involves getting all the biblical Four Horseman back in action. How do they do this? Well, in typical Pratchett-esque humour, there's a delivery driver delivering packages to each one.

When he gets to Pestilence, however, the narrator (God) tells us that Pestilence had retired long ago, and was replaced with someone else. It's a person seen with dirty clothes, who is tossing random junk into a nearby river, and when they're asked to sign, they sign a large dripping blotch of oil, and we're told this is "Pollution". They take the package, a brilliant white crown, and obviously tosses the box into the river too, and as they don their crown, it turns to an oily black as well.

I thought this was really cool. Pestilence retiring in the era of modern medicine makes so much sense, and Pollution taking their place is the next natural step.

I was recently doing some self-reflecting on my current game rotation, and noticed that I was really only playing Monk in ff14 for the big combo finisher at the end. Then that lead to how I perfer strikes in Path of exile over other skills cause I like the impact, and then to why I basically only used the fists in DMCV cause the charged giga impact was so satisfying.

So what's that one move you got in your game that is the biggest draw?

I like Blue Bettle, I like Jaime, I like his one-off and early comic runs, I like him in Young Justice, and I like him in Batman Brave And The Bold.

But I could not be less interested in the Blue Bettle movie, I don't think it will be bad but I just don't want to sit through another superhero origin movie where the first third is the characters home life then getting their powers then needing to learn how to use their powers while falling on their bottom while they and people around them scream.

I think if this movie came out ten or even five years earlier, I'd be super interested but now after so much superhero media I'm not super interested in superhero media that wastes time on them getting their powers.

The recent Fate Post ranking the Animes by how likely it is that Woolie would like them inspired this post. I personally haven't seen much anime or read much manga so I've only consumed the good stuff.
