The forces of unmanned systems continue to destroy enemy air defense

Operators of 412 OBBpS "NEMESIS" detected and hit the Tor-M2 air defense system in the Donetsk direction. These complexes are an important element of enemy air defense, and their cost reaches about 25 million dollars per unit.

We are systematically weakening the enemy's anti-aircraft defense in key directions!

Summary

Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) arrested a lieutenant colonel accused of acting as a Russian GRU mole, passing critical intelligence to Moscow on Ukrainian special forces in southern Ukraine.

Recruited before the war and “activated” in spring 2024, the officer allegedly leaked plans, troop movements, and targets, aiding Russian operations in Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, and Crimea.

He faces high treason charges and possible life imprisonment.

The SBU also recently arrested a Russian spy posing as a U.N. volunteer, while a Russian man faces trial for allegedly providing military intelligence to Ukraine.

An extensive Russian offensive on European satellites was behind several disruptions to the children’s channel BabyTV, in which Russian propaganda played on the channel multiple times in the spring, Nieuwsuur discovered. The disruption to the Dutch children’s programming was a side effect of a larger sabotage action against European satellites. Russia has attacked at least six European satellites in recent months, the current affairs program reported.

The Russian sabotage affected the Netherlands for the first time on March 16. KPN broadcast an hour of interference instead of children’s television. No one noticed at the time. At the same time, the Ukrainian television channel FreedomTV was interrupted, showing a Russian propaganda video instead of the normal programming.

[…]

Russia was likely targeting Ukrainian television, Dutch, French, Swedish, and Ukrainian government services told Nieuwsuur. The interruptions of BabyTV were likely collateral damage.

In recent months, Russia disrupted at least four more Eutelsat satellites and one satellite managed by the Luxembourg company SES, according to investigations by the satellite companies in Nieuwsuur’s possession. Some of these satellites not only carry TV signals but also government communications and possibly even military communications, according to brochures from the companies.

Putin has said the country is in a proxy war with the West, and citizens need to help root out internal enemies. In March 2022, weeks after the invasion, he declared that the Russian people “will always be able to distinguish the true patriots from the scum and the traitors, and just spit them out like a gnat that accidentally flew into their mouths.”

Since the start of the Ukraine war, according to OVD-Info, the authorities have detained more than 20,000 people for various forms of anti-war statements or protests, and launched criminal cases against 1,094 individuals.

In news reports, court cases and on social media, examples have come to light of neighbour informing on neighbour, churchgoers denouncing priests and students reporting on teachers.

For some, the resulting current climate is reminiscent of the atmosphere of mutual distrust and suspicion under Soviet Communist rule.
