Never used the 720p plan because I have 4k TVs but I’m surprised at the number of people signing up for the ad supported plan. For me, the whole point of paying for streaming was so that I could support the film makers without dealing with ads.

For me, the whole point of paying for streaming was so that I could support the film makers without dealing with ads.

That doesn't sound profitable. How about artists and content creators only getting 0.1% of the profits and you have to watch ads? That sounds like it'd make the executives much richer.

It makes perfect sense to me. First, not are as opposed to ads as you might be. Having grown up in the era of commercial TV, they are just a minor annoyance to me. Second, some people may rarely watch Netflix. Such a cheap plan lets people keep it for those few shows they still watch.

To me, the bigger mystery is why there isn't a 1-screen 4K package. Forcing people to buy 4 screens when they only watch 1 at a time is what drives sharing. Not everyone has a ton of kids that all want to watch something different.

Having grown up in the commercial tv era is why I despise ads.

3 long commercial breaks in a 30 minute time block, is enough to radicalize anyone, lol.

I grew up with commercial TV, too. But somewhere along the way I lost my tolerance for ads. I'll pay to get rid of them, but if that's not an option, I just don't watch the show.

Because: f*** you, that's why. You want 4K buy premium - Netflix execs, probably

Yeah, not everyone hates commercials. Some people are cucks.
