Yeah that checks out. Like I said before the federation issues are definitely still a thing and it does seem to be worse when you're trying to post cross-platform. Honestly not sure if mentions are even supposed to work, I know for example on Lemmy I can't DM a Kbin user (even though it looks like we can, but tested with my husband's Kbin account and apparently DMs to them just disappear into the ether? 🤷♀️) so it's possible we also can't mention each other. I have no idea though, just guesses!
I definitely do not envy the devs on either side with all of this work still to do to get both softwares stable, but especially feel for Ernest! Kbin was so new when the influx started, I can't even imagine the stress. Think I read that he has a lot of contributors helping out now though so at least it's not just him on his own trying to keep all the plates spinning.
We'll get there, I'm sure!
