It's a little sad that we need to actually say this, but:

Don't be an asshole or you will be permanently banned.

Respectful debate is totally OK, criticizing a product is fine, but being verbally abusive will not be tolerated.

Focus on discussing the idea, not attacking the person.

I still like my more expensive carbon road bike and still happy with my purchase although it mostly collects dust now since most of my riding lately has been commutes by ebike because its too far and hot this time of year for an acoustic bike. Before I got the ebike, I did occasionally make the commute on my road bike, but I'd have to get there at least an hour early to cool off, clean up, etc. No way I'd ever consider doing that ride to work on my cheap aluminum hybrid: it would take too long and I'd be too tired to do my job.

Ebikes were still in their infancy when I got my road bike (and the equivalent to my road bike costs like twice as much as I paid now). Would have cost much more. But I didn't purchase my road bike for commuting: I already had my hybrid then and my commute was so short that it was faster than a car without traffic. It was for the hobby.
